* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
 * Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
 * Proven experience building and operating internal platforms or shared services used by multiple teams.
 * Expertise in designing distributed systems focusing on consistency, availability, latency, and failure modes.
 * Advanced skills in at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.
 * Strong knowledge of high-throughput messaging, streaming, and event-driven architectures using tools like Kafka, Pulsar, or NATS.
 * Experience with various data storage systems including relational, key-value, document, and search.
 * Demonstrated leadership in platform projects involving multi-team collaboration.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

## Description

The LEAD BACKEND DEVELOPER role focuses on designing, building, and operating high-throughput backend platforms and shared services that underpin other engineering teams' product development. This position is critical for ensuring platform capabilities such as request routing, traffic management, data distribution, caching, asynchronous job execution, and event processing handle large volumes of traffic efficiently and reliably., * Design and develop foundational backend platforms and shared services.

 * Build systems for request routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching layers, asynchronous job execution, and durable event processing.
 * Ensure platform components handle high traffic with predictable latency and low operational overhead.
 * Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives to improve engineering standards.
 * Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering culture through code and design reviews.
 * Manage stakeholder communication and technical decision-making.
