## About the Role

## Description

* Drive adoption of SRE best practice across the clients cloud estate and support services through a dedicated assessment and onboarding process.
 * Ensure applications meet operational and security requirements for production.
 * Provide technical direction and support to other SREs.
 * Work with development teams from the design phase to help them follow good practices and departmental standards when building application infrastructure.
 * Design and develop techniques to improve application reliability, runbooks, knowledge transfer across teams, and ongoing SRE strategy.
 * Collaborate with development teams, provide best-practice guidance, and ensure application monitoring is enabled.
 * Promote engineering ownership, SRE best practice, and the integrity and maintenance of live services.
 * Manage application error budgets agreed with product owners and balance work accordingly.
 * Lead investigations and resolutions of major or complex service incidents, ensuring appropriately skilled people are available to respond.
 * Assess the impact of change requests with stakeholders, provide technical expertise, and authorise subsequent changes.
 * Coach and mentor application development and operations engineers in SRE practices and techniques.

 * Product Owner, Our central government client is seeking a team of Senior Site Reliability Engineers for a large cloud programme. The role is initially for six months, is remote within the UK, and pays £500 per day inside IR35. You will work with application teams across the department to develop reliable and secure solutions for citizens across the UK.
