## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
 * OR a master's degree and 1+ or more years of relevant experience
 * OR an associate's degree and 5+ or more years of relevant experience
 * OR a high school diploma and 7+ or more years of relevant experience
 * Proven experience building and managing scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and relational databases. Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
 * Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, database engineering, and automated workflow orchestration tools. Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and data architectures.

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer.
 * Prior experience supporting U.S. Military Command operations or Department of Defense enterprise data environments.
 * Familiarity with real-time streaming architectures, data governance frameworks, and containerization technologies.
 * Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary technical teams to drive data platform improvements.

Clearance Requirements:

 * Must hold a current/active secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

 * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
 * Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
 * Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

* Designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining scalable data architectures and processing systems.
 * Developing and optimizing automated ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load enterprise data sources.
 * Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, data scientists, and analysts to define data interoperability standards.
 * Conducting performance tuning, data validation, and troubleshooting across complex database environments.
 * Maintaining data baselines, configuration management controls, and comprehensive technical documentation.
 * Recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance system reliability, data quality, and scalability.
