## About the Role

* 6+ years of relevant experience in applied research directed to machine learning, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.
 * Advanced Degree (Master's) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline.
 * Demonstrated experience with data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning., * Experience with analytic techniques such as anomaly detection, clustering, entity resolution, risk-based modeling, and network and cohort analysis.
 * Expertise with Qlik and/or other BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
 * Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies.
 * Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance, and processing large volumes of data.
 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills., * Must possess an active TS clearance, CBP BI, or DHS Suitability (adjudicated within the past 4 years)., * The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
 * Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
 * Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

## Description

* Apply and validate data mining methods and machine learning models.
 * Design and implement data-driven solutions, with a specific focus on advanced analytical methods, data models, and visualizations.
 * Develop quantitative simulations and models to provide descriptive and predictive analytics solution recommendations.
 * Identify trends and problems through complex big data analysis.
 * Maintain current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytics.
 * Serve as a key member of a data science project team, supporting other data scientists and consultants in the performance of assigned tasks.
