## About the Role

DirectEmployers is looking for a software engineer with back­end development experience. This is a full time, direct-hire position in the Product Development department. This position is remote, but you must reside within the states of Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, or Virginia. Occasional travel to our headquarters in Indianapolis, IN may be required. Your work day must include the core hours of 9:30 AM-4:00 PM EST., * 3+ years of experience in development

 * Experience in Java
 * Knowledge of SQL Server

Preferred:

 * Experience with complex systems
 * Experience with handling large amounts of data and high-traffic databases
 * Experience optimizing for speed and efficient resource usage
 * Experience with C#, XML, JSON, XSL, REST APIs, HTML, JavaScript, and AWS

## Description

Duties will include creation and maintenance of data scraping programs, management software, and working with staff to understand the needs of our members. Candidates experienced with complex systems involving large volumes of data, database access, and optimizations for speed and efficient resource usage are preferred. You will primarily develop in Java and C# and will be working with SQL Server and Windows Server systems., * Write Java within our scraping framework to scrape job content from websites and/or feeds

 * Assess websites to determine how to scrape them
 * Interact with staff to determine the needs of members
