## About the Role

* Proven experience as a Technical Architect within large-scale government or regulated environments.
 * Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
 * Experience designing microservices and distributed systems.
 * Expertise in API design, integration patterns, and event-driven architecture.
 * Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
 * Familiarity with security standards (eg, ISO 27001, NCSC guidelines).
 * Experience with Legacy system modernisation.
 * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
 * Ability to work in agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban).

## Description

* Design end-to-end technical architectures for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
 * Provide architectural leadership across multiple delivery teams.
 * Ensure solutions align with GDS, and cross-government standards.
 * Define and document architecture using appropriate frameworks and tooling.
 * Lead technical decision-making, including trade-offs and risk assessments.
 * Collaborate with stakeholders including product managers, delivery leads, and security teams.
 * Oversee system integration across Legacy and modern platforms.
 * Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and governance requirements.
 * Support cloud adoption and migration strategies (primarily AWS/Azure).
 * Conduct architecture reviews and provide assurance across programmes.
