## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
 * Approximately 3+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or cloud engineering experience
 * Strong development experience with Python
 * Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services
 * Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
 * Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker
 * Experience leveraging GitHub for source control, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews
 * Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
 * Working knowledge of Java and experience supporting Java-based services
 * Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectural patterns
 * Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture concepts
 * Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
 * Ability to work independently within established architectural guardrails, * AWS certification or Kubernetes certification
 * Experience in integrating enterprise identity solutions such as OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, Keycloak, Entra ID, or similar technologies
 * Experience implementing observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Datadog, or related tools
 * Experience connecting to enterprise databases, APIs, and data platforms
 * Experience working in highly regulated or security-conscious environments
 * Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
 * Exposure to AI, machine learning, or enterprise data platforms

## Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Platform Engineer in New York, NY., * Platform Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting enterprise platform capabilities and sandbox environments

 * Build cloud-native applications primarily in Python, with occasional development in Java
 * Develop and deploy containerized workloads on Amazon EKS (Kubernetes)
 * Create and maintain connectivity patterns and integration services for approved enterprise data sources
 * Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, integrating with enterprise identity platforms and access controls
 * Build observability capabilities including logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and operational dashboards
 * Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to review designs, recommend improvements, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
 * Contribute to platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance optimization efforts
 * As a Platform Engineer, you will participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices, testing standards, and development guidelines
 * Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
 * Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and integration specifications
 * Work within Agile delivery teams while operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability
