## About the Role

* Significant hands-on Java engineering experience, including building and operating Spring Boot microservices
 * Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles, including domain-driven and event-driven design

What you'll be doing:

 * Leading and developing a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, secure and reliable software solutions
 * Prioritising, planning and overseeing delivery activities to achieve predictable and effective outcomes
 * Designing and building scalable, maintainable software while remaining an active hands-on engineer
 * Coaching, mentoring and supporting engineers through feedback and structured development plans
 * Embedding a culture of quality, testing and security across day-to-day engineering practices
 * Driving continuous improvement through delivery metrics, operational insights and observability data
 * Managing operational readiness, incident response processes and technical debt to maintain resilient systems
 * Collaborating with product, architecture and business stakeholders to remove blockers and deliver customer value
