Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. * 1+ year of experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar. Preferred Additional Skills: * Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) or similar configuration management and defect-tracking tools. * Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum practices, team facilitation, and backlog management. * Experience with DevOps tools and technologies for virtualization and automation (e.g. Docker, Jenkins, CMake, git/Bitbucket, Artifactory). * Experience with object-oriented software architecture and design. * Experience using AI-assisted and agentic software development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or similar) to improve software design, implementation, debugging, testing, code review, and engineering productivity. * Experience with SQL, NoSQL, POSTGRES, Elasticsearch or equivalent database infrastructures. * Experience with drivers/hardware interfaces including PCIe, 1553, RS232, FPGAs, and other unique hardware. * Knowledge of UML diagrams such as class diagrams, component diagrams, state diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc. * Experience with space hardware test methodologies and operations. * Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). * Experience in software integration and test, with strong software development and troubleshooting skills. ## Description L3Harris is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Space Systems team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of software solutions that support the strategic objectives of the organization.
