The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to design, implement, secure, and troubleshoot enterprise platforms not simply monitor applications or manage production support tickets., * Platform Engineering & Kubernetes: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cluster architecture, deployments, services, ingress controllers, service discovery, network policies, troubleshooting, and production-grade platform operations. * Networking Architecture: Deep understanding of ingress/egress traffic flows, load balancers, reverse proxies, DNS, routing, firewalls, L4/L7 networking, network segmentation, and connectivity troubleshooting. * Service Mesh & API Traffic Management: Hands-on experience with Istio, including mTLS, service-to-service communication, traffic routing, authorization policies, and service-mesh troubleshooting. Strong NGINX experience covering reverse proxy, load balancing, TLS termination, and traffic management. * Secrets Management & Security: Hands-on HashiCorp Vault experience, including authentication methods, policies, application integration, secret lifecycle management, and automated secret rotation. Strong understanding of RBAC, least privilege, TLS/mTLS, certificate management, secure configurations, and environment security standards. * CI/CD & DevSecOps: Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools. Must demonstrate integrating security scans, dependency and container-image scanning, infrastructure-as-code validation, quality gates, and vulnerability remediation into deployment workflows. * Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Strong Terraform experience, including reusable modules, state management, environment provisioning, and configuration automation. Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting is mandatory. * Cloud & Operating Systems: Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Linux administration, cloud networking, identity and access management, and secure infrastructure deployment. * Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or equivalent observability tools, including root-cause analysis of platform, network, and deployment failures. Senior-Level Expectations * Independently design and implement secure, scalable, highly available platform solutions. * Diagnose complex Kubernetes, ingress/egress, networking, service-mesh, and security issues using a structured troubleshooting approach. * Explain architecture decisions, configurations, trade-offs, and production incidents using real implementation examples. * Demonstrate clear ownership of platform engineering rather than relying primarily on application support or operational monitoring. Candidate Screening Criteria All core skills are mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate practical, implementation-level knowledge of Kubernetes platform engineering, ingress/egress networking, HashiCorp Vault, Istio, NGINX, and security-integrated CI/CD pipelines during technical screening. Not suitable: Candidates whose experience is primarily application support, ticket management, monitoring, routine deployments, or operating prebuilt pipelines without strong hands-on platform engineering and networking expertise.
