Agentic / AI Automation Experience Strongly preferred: The role must be able to support the current RPA estate while helping the client evolve beyond traditional screen-based automation. Candidates do not need to be AI researchers, but should understand modern UiPath agentic capabilities and how to apply them safely. * Hands-on exposure to UiPath Autopilot and/or current UiPath agentic capabilities such as Agents / Agent Builder. * Experience evaluating where agentic automation is appropriate versus deterministic RPA, workflow, rules or APIs. * Experience with human-in-the-loop controls, approvals and exception escalation patterns. * Experience with UiPath Document Understanding, AI Center, Action Center or comparable AI-assisted automation capabilities is a plus. * Experience implementing or designing self-healing / selector-healing / failure-recovery patterns for production automations. * Ability to define guardrails, auditability and operational monitoring for AI-assisted or agentic workflows. Healthcare / Business Context * Healthcare payer experience is strongly preferred; Medicare Advantage exposure is a plus. * Experience automating payer operations such as enrollment, premium billing, finance, pharmacy, quality/HEDIS, member/provider service, case management or provider data is highly valuable. * Understanding of HIPAA, PHI/PII handling and healthcare data security expectations. * Comfort working in an environment where business SMEs know the payer process deeply but may depend on the developer for technical design, analysis and automation execution. ## Description * Participate in structured knowledge transfer from incumbent developers and IT SMEs during the initial transition period. * Create a complete inventory of production and in-flight automations: business owner, purpose, inputs/outputs, dependencies, credentials, schedules, queues, failure modes, support contacts and criticality. * Document Orchestrator configuration, package/version dependencies, environment details and operational support procedures. * Prioritize runbooks for the most business-critical automations first. 2. Run and Stabilize the Existing Automation Estate * Monitor production jobs and queues in Orchestrator and proactively identify failures or degradation. * Perform root-cause analysis and permanent fixes rather than repeatedly re-running failed jobs. * Maintain runbooks, credentials, configurations and operational schedules. * Support critical business cycles such as month-end, year-end and high-volume Medicare enrollment periods. * Track success rate, exception rate, time to repair, manual fallback effort and transaction volumes. 3. Build New Automations * Develop and test automations from a prioritized business backlog. * Design for reuse: shared components, libraries, utilities and common integration patterns. * Obtain business sign-off, follow change control and support production deployment. * Provide effort estimates, technical design, dependency assessment and production support readiness before release. 4. Improve and Modernize * Analyze recurring failures, exceptions and manual fallback patterns across the automation estate and recommend fixes, consolidation or retirement. * Identify where existing screen-based RPA should be replaced or supplemented by APIs, rules, workflow, AI-assisted automation or agentic patterns. * Expand self-healing and resilient automation techniques for high-failure or high-change applications. * Tune schedules, queues and runtime patterns for peak processing periods. * Support proof-of-concepts involving UiPath Autopilot / Agents where there is a clear business case and appropriate controls. Preferred Profile * Senior individual contributor who can operate without day-to-day hand-holding. * Has inherited and stabilized an automation estate built by another team. * Has supported at least one business-critical UiPath environment with unattended automations at scale. * Has mentored developers or performed design / code reviews. * Can speak to business users in plain language and translate operational problems into the right automation approach. * Experience in regulated industries; healthcare payer experience strongly preferred. Recruiter Screening Questions * Tell me about a production UiPath environment you personally supported. How many automations were live, and what were you accountable for? * Describe a difficult production failure you diagnosed in Orchestrator. What was the root cause, and how did you prevent recurrence? * How have you used queues, assets, schedules/triggers and unattended execution in UiPath? * Have you inherited automations from another team? How did you structure knowledge transfer, inventory and runbooks? * What experience do you have with UiPath Autopilot, Agents / Agent Builder, Document Understanding, AI Center, Action Center or self-healing patterns? * Give an example where you chose an API, rule or workflow instead of screen-based RPA. Why? * Have you worked in healthcare payer operations or another regulated environment handling PHI/PII?
