## Description

GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Fires Systems Engineer to support our Worldwide Field Support contract in Ottawa, Canada.

Meaningful work & impact:

 * Install, configure, test, and maintain AFATDS operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
 * Initialize, configure, and troubleshoot software interfaces
 * Manage and monitor all installed systems, networks, and infrastructure for optimal performance.
 * Ensure high availability, reliability, and resilience of system and network infrastructure.
 * Monitor and evaluate application performance, identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and collaborate with developers to implement fixes.
 * Maintain system security, backup procedures, and redundancy strategies.
 * Participate in the design and enhancement of information and operational support systems as required.
 * Prepare weekly and bi-weekly technical and operational reports.
 * Provide over-the-shoulder training and mentorship to artillery operators.
 * Assist Canadian Army Artillery units in planning and executing simulated and live-fire unit/formation-level exercises.
 * Apply advanced knowledge of AFATDS hardware, components, and operational procedures.
 * Assist the Joint Fires Modernization Project Management Office with system acceptance, technical systems testing, management of interdependent systems interfaces of in-service and future systems, and on-site and remote support of field units implementing AFATDS
