The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. This role requires an active security clearance and experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments. You will work across GCP infrastructure, automation, networking, security, and DevOps, helping to build and maintain highly available, resilient, and compliant cloud platforms. The role is suited to an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working with modern cloud technologies in environments where security and reliability are critical., * Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and highly available GCP infrastructure. * Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and other automation tools. * Develop, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Cloud Build. * Automate deployment, configuration management and operational processes using scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell. * Manage GCP services, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM and VPC networking. * Implement containerisation and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes. * Establish monitoring, logging, alerting and observability using Google Cloud Operations Suite and other monitoring platforms. * Apply security best practices across cloud infrastructure, including IAM, least-privilege access, secrets management, encryption and vulnerability management. * Support incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous service improvement. * Collaborate with development, security and architecture teams to embed DevSecOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle. * Implement backup, disaster recovery, resilience and business continuity solutions. * Ensure cloud environments comply with applicable security policies, governance requirements and operational standards. * Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge sharing across the team.
