Quality is the product. Right now, our QA practice is at an inflection point. We've been largely manual and reactive. We're changing that deliberately: shifting left, building automation into our definition of done, and making quality the shared responsibility of the whole engineering team - not a bottleneck at the end of the pipeline. We're looking for an automation engineer with deep quality instincts. Someone who can architect our testing infrastructure, embed quality thinking from the first line of code to production, and progressively eliminate the manual work that slows teams down. You'll lead the journey, not just participate in it. What You'll Do Own the QA process end to end * From backlog refinement - where you catch logic gaps and edge cases before a line of code is written - through feature testing, UAT, and production release. Structured, predictable, communicated clearly. Lead the automation effort * Design, build, and maintain our automation frameworks across iOS, Android, Web, and API. Write automation code yourself. Review automation PRs from the dev team. Keep the suite healthy, fast, and trustworthy. Drive the automation roadmap * Decide what gets automated and when. Build and prioritize the test scenario backlog. Organize hackathons and pairing sessions that bring engineers along on the journey - because in our model, the whole team contributes to automation. Make quality measurable * Define and monitor QA metrics - coverage, cycle time, defect escape rate, regression confidence. Use data to identify gaps, improve incrementally, and make the case for investment. Build the quality culture * Use SonarCloud, quality gates, CI/CD integration, and AI tooling to systematically raise our quality floor. Bring the team with you. Don't wait to be asked. The Team You'll work alongside Michal (interim QA Freelancer- who has been scoping and building our QA foundation) and tech team with Igor (Mobile Lead), Tom (Tech Lead), Alex (Backend), Isah (Frontend), Oleg (Full Stack), and Yahaya (VoIP). On the product side, you'll work closely with Kseniia. Talk360 is a lean company - around 30 people globally - which means your impact is visible, and your influence is real. Cross-functional collaboration isn't a value statement here; it's just how the work happens. ## Related Videos - [Getting under the skin: The Social Engineering techniques](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/38-getting-under-the-skin-the-social-engineering-techniques) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [How I Built QA from Scratch in a Scaling Startup - no fluff real life story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2041-how-i-built-qa-from-scratch-in-a-scaling-startup-no-fluff-real-life-story) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) - [Continuous testing - run automated tests for every change!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/190-continuous-testing-run-automated-tests-for-every-change) - [Stop Committing Your Secrets - GIt Hooks To The Rescue!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/573-stop-committing-your-secrets-git-hooks-to-the-rescue) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [The 8 Best Code Testing Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/402-the-8-best-code-testing-tools) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again)
