## About the Role

Any Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

 1. Have a professional level of architectural competence and successful experience in teaching architecture, including studio courses at the college level;

 2. Mastery level knowledge of digital drafting and design such as AutoCAD, Revit and Rhino;

 3. Knowledge of successful teaching techniques that engage students in their own learning, motivate students to develop higher order thinking skills, and ensure consistent and appropriate monitoring of student progress.

## Description

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Part-Time Instructor, Architecture for Spring Semester 2027. The ideal candidate must have a passion for teaching and learning and a strong commitment to the missions and values of the community college.

The Instructor, Architecture will be expected to provide instruction in the following areas:

 1. AutoCAD (digital drafting)

 2. Revit (3D BIM)

 3. Wood framing Construction document

 4. No-wood framing such as Truss, steel, CMU, etc., Construction document

 5. Architecture Design Studio

Duties and Responsibilities:

 1. Teach courses offered in the architecture curriculum, including design, digital drafting, presentation and graphics courses;

 2. Assist in curriculum revisions and new course development, 1. Value and intentionally promote diversity and consciousness of difference
 2. Demonstrate cultural humility and an ongoing desire to improve cultural competence
 3. Are dedicated to addressing issues of social justice
 4. Accept their shared role and responsibility in addressing opportunity and achievement gaps experienced by students
 5. Have experience and success in closing student equity gaps and engaging in equitable practices, or are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about implementing practices that achieve these goals
