## About the Role

* Strong commercial backend development experience with Node.js.
 * Experience designing and developing distributed systems, ideally involving APIs, event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
 * TypeScript experience is highly desirable but not essential.
 * Experience with technologies such as NestJS, Google Cloud, Pub/Sub, MongoDB, Redis, Terraform, GitHub Actions or Datadog would be useful; familiarity with all is not expected.
 * Knowledge of React, Go or Site Reliability Engineering would be beneficial.
 * Interest in exploring AI-assisted development tools while maintaining good engineering standards.
 * Enjoyment of solving technical problems, taking ownership and collaborating with other developers.

## Description

* Design, develop and operate a platform built around distributed services.
 * Develop backend services primarily with Node.js and TypeScript, with some React frontend development.
 * Own work from initial design and development through deployment and production performance.
 * Develop integrations and services connecting customer platforms with warehouse systems.
 * Improve reliability, monitoring and recovery across distributed systems.
 * Build self-service tools to make integrations easier to configure and manage.
 * Introduce Go where performance requirements justify it.
 * Contribute to infrastructure, architecture and technical decisions.
