## About the Role

* Strong background in hands-on software engineering, with experience designing and delivering applications and technical solutions independently.
 * Proven experience developing AI-enabled applications, prototypes or proof-of-concepts, ideally within an enterprise environment.
 * Strong expertise across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including cloud-native application development and integration.
 * Experience working with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents or AI-assisted development tools.
 * Solid understanding of API development, systems integration and connecting multiple enterprise data sources.
 * Experience with modern development languages and technologies, such as Python, SQL and relevant backend frameworks.
 * Ability to rapidly translate business requirements into working technical solutions without relying on large engineering teams.
 * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and present to senior business and technology leaders.
 * Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, security and maintainability.
 * Previous experience within banking, wealth management or financial services, with an appreciation of working in a regulated environment.
 * A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to balance innovation, technical feasibility and business value.

Desirable Experience

 * Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform or enterprise CRM environments.
 * Experience with Azure AI services and enterprise AI integration patterns.
 * Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI principles and data security requirements within regulated organisations.
 * Previous experience in a forward-deployed engineering, innovation engineering or technical consultancy role.
 * Experience helping transition AI prototypes into scalable, production-ready applications.

## Description

* Lead the technical design and development of AI-driven proof-of-concepts, prototypes and lightweight applications that demonstrate measurable business value.
 * Work directly with senior stakeholders, business teams and technology leaders to understand challenges and translate opportunities into practical AI solutions.
 * Take ownership of AI use cases from initial technical exploration through to feasibility validation, demonstration and handover for production development.
 * Build innovative solutions using Microsoft Azure, AI technologies and modern software engineering practices.
 * Design and implement integrations across multiple enterprise data sources, systems and applications, establishing scalable and reusable engineering patterns.
 * Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to accelerate engineering delivery and experimentation.
 * Collaborate with platform engineering, architecture, security and governance teams to ensure solutions align with the bank's technical and regulatory standards.
 * Present prototypes, technical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, clearly articulating feasibility, value and potential implementation considerations.
 * Support the transition of successful prototypes into production, working alongside wider engineering and platform teams where appropriate.
 * Champion emerging AI technologies, engineering best practices and innovative approaches to solving business challenges.
