## About the Role

* Minimum of 4 years of estimating experience with a security, low-voltage, or electrical contractor working with security solutions, or equivalent.
 * Proven track record estimating large commercial projects, with individual bids of $1M or more.
 * Expert knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management, and structured cabling systems.
 * Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
 * Advanced proficiency with digital takeoff software such as Bluebeam Revu.
 * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
 * Sound judgment on labor productivity, pricing strategy, and project risk.
 * Ability to manage several large bids against firm deadlines.
 * Clear written and verbal communication skills, including with clients and general contractors.
 * Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead without direct supervision.
 * Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Experience with IP-based security systems and network infrastructure.
 * Experience estimating data center, hyperscale, or sports venue projects.
 * Familiarity with major manufacturers and platforms such as AXIS, Hanwha, HID, Genetec, Milestone, and Lenel.
 * Manufacturer certifications or industry credentials such as BICSI or SIA are a plus.
 * Experience mentoring or supervising estimators.
 * Previous field experience as a Senior Technician, Lead Technician, or Project Manager is desirable.

## Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimates for large and complex commercial physical security projects, including data centers, hyperscale campuses, and sports venues. You will own bids from document review through final pricing, guide system design and specification compliance, and set the standard for estimating accuracy across the team. The ideal candidate combines deep low-voltage security knowledge with sound commercial judgment, mentors other estimators, and works independently in a remote setting., Estimating:

 * Lead estimates for large, multi-system, and multi-phase projects from bid document review through final pricing.
 * Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and contract terms to define scope, risk, and requirements.
 * Perform and review quantity takeoffs for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management, and structured cabling.
 * Develop labor estimates, productivity rates, and pricing strategy for competitive and negotiated bids.
 * Solicit, level, and evaluate pricing from distributors, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
 * Identify scope gaps, risks, clarifications, and exclusions, and draft RFIs where documents are unclear.
 * Prepare scopes of work and support proposal development and pricing reviews with the sales team.

Design and Specifications:

 * Lead the design of physical security systems, including device selection, layouts, and system architecture.
 * Review and interpret Division 28 and related specifications, and confirm that proposed products and approaches comply.
 * Develop alternates and value-engineering options that meet client requirements and improve competitiveness.

Leadership and Quality:

 * Review estimates prepared by other estimators for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
 * Mentor and train estimators on takeoff methods, pricing, and specification review.
 * Help develop and maintain estimating standards, templates, labor units, and historical cost data.

Coordination and Handoff:

 * Work with sales, project managers, and engineering to confirm scope and strategy before submission.
 * Participate in client and GC scope reviews and bid clarification meetings as needed.
 * Lead the handoff of awarded projects to operations with clear documentation of estimate assumptions.
 * Update estimates and support change orders as scope or project requirements change.
