Make an impact by using your expertise to protect our country from threats., We are looking for an Enterprise IT Operations & Asset Management Engineer to provide critical operational support across a large, complex enterprise technology environment. This role sits at the intersection of change management, ServiceNow, configuration management, asset lifecycle management, software and hardware maintenance, licensing, procurement, and vendor coordination. You will work across numerous engineering disciplines and help ensure that the infrastructure supporting the enterprise is accurately tracked, properly maintained, appropriately licensed, securely changed, and operationally ready. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of IT rather than being limited to a single technology. You will interact with engineering teams, service owners, security personnel, asset management teams, vendors, procurement organizations, and leadership. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT What You'll Do * Coordinate enterprise change management activities by reviewing Digital Services change requests, validating technical and operational information, and supporting Change Advisory Board activities across multiple engineering disciplines. * Engineer and maintain enterprise asset information within ServiceNow, supporting the complete lifecycle of servers, storage, appliances, and other technology assets from deployment through retirement. * Manage configuration and lifecycle activities by ensuring assets are accurately represented, deployed, decommissioned, and maintained within the enterprise asset management environment. * Support hardware and software maintenance by coordinating vendor renewals, validating asset inventories and quotes, reviewing costs, and supporting the acquisition and renewal process. * Coordinate enterprise software and hardware acquisitions by gathering technical and commercial information, submitting required security and purchasing requests, validating entitlements, and supporting purchase-order execution. * Manage software entitlement information and ensure enterprise licensing records remain accurate for products and services used across the environment. * Support enterprise technology vendor and product relationships by serving as an operational point of contact for Microsoft, Oracle, Dell, HPE, Cisco, and other technology providers., You will work with teams responsible for servers, storage, networking, infrastructure, SharePoint, databases, directory services, Linux and Windows environments, Exchange, VDI, security, web services, search, and other enterprise capabilities. The existing role directly supports change activities across a broad collection of these engineering organizations. Rather than becoming narrowly focused on one technology, you will develop an understanding of how enterprise technology is deployed, changed, tracked, maintained, licensed, and ultimately retired. That makes this an excellent position for an IT professional who enjoys understanding the operational side of technology and wants to develop into a broader enterprise practitioner. Why This Role Matters Enterprise technology does not operate on engineering alone. A server needs to be properly recorded. A change needs to be reviewed and approved. A software license needs to be available. A maintenance contract needs to be renewed. A new system needs to be properly acquired and entered into the environment. A retired system needs to be removed from production and accurately reflected in the asset database. When those activities are not coordinated, the organization loses visibility, creates unnecessary risk, and makes it harder for engineers to do their jobs. This role helps make sure those things happen. You will provide the operational discipline that allows engineering teams to focus on building and operating technology while maintaining accurate enterprise records, supporting compliance, and keeping the lifecycle of technology under control. What Success Looks Like Success means: * Enterprise assets are accurately tracked throughout their lifecycle. * Changes are properly reviewed, coordinated, and documented. * Hardware and software maintenance remains current. * Licensing and software entitlements are accurately managed. * Procurement and acquisition activities move efficiently. * ServiceNow information can be trusted. * Engineering teams receive the operational support they need. * Vendor relationships and technology renewals are properly coordinated. * Leadership has accurate information about assets, changes, costs, and operational activities. * Technology can be deployed, maintained, and retired without losing accountability or visibility.
