## About the Role

* Bachelor's in Engineering/related technical discipline with 12+ years of progressive engineering experience, Master's with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years
 * Digital circuit design; embedded controls; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog is required. Expertise in the design and implementation of algorithms in FPGAs. Experience architecting system on chip solutions specifying features to be implemented in embedded software and VHDL.
 * Experience designing and implementing real-time control algorithms on FPGAs for optical systems including FSMs, DMs, and linear stages.
 * Experience performing simulation, validation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing of FPGA-based control systems
 * Experience optimizing signal processing pipelines for low-latency, high-precision performance
 * Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact.
 * Ability to travel as needed for customer reviews. 0-25%

 * Electronics design for space applications, embedded controls in power electronics or high-power computing, digital or microprocessor control of power supplies and control systems (optical and gimbal), and guiding a design through development and into production.
 * Experience with Xilinx Vivado Design Suite, PADS PCB Design Software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, HyperLynx Signal/Power Integrity tools, ANSYS Signal Integrity tools, C/C++, VHDL, Microsoft Project, MATLAB, LabVIEW.

## Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer for a top aerospace and defense technology client in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This engineer will join a highly technical Signal Electronics and Embedded Systems team supporting cutting-edge R&D programs across high-energy laser systems, advanced airborne sensors, space-based laser communications, and other next-generation defense and aerospace technologies. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with FPGA development, VHDL, embedded controls, digital/analog circuit design, and System-on-Chip architecture. This role will have significant involvement throughout the engineering lifecycle, including architecture, algorithm development, hardware design, simulation, integration, hardware-in-the-loop testing, technical reviews, and transition into production.
