This position requires an engineering professional who can effectively partner with global design studios, external suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) implementation. Responsibilities also include managing release schedules, mitigating risks, and achieving key Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) and Total Variable Cost (TVC) goals across global product lines. The ideal candidate will leverage real-life consumer insights and emerging industry trends to design solutions for the next generation of home appliances. Acting as a mentor and collaborator within a highly successful, globally distributed team, you will establish data acquisition strategies and conduct deep technical reviews to continuously improve Dry system performance and reliability. Domestic travel will be required periodically to lead workshops, conduct research, and participate in cross-functional project reviews. Your responsibilities will include * Research, Design & Technology Roadmap Innovation & Value Creation: Research, design, and develop advanced electromechanical and thermal technologies that deliver a compelling value proposition for customers and the business. * Strategic Roadmapping: Develop global, long-term electromechanical module strategies and technology roadmaps that support product plans and meet target attributes. Product Leadership: Architect and develop technical solutions that secure and maintain industry product leadership. Resource & Knowledge Management: Balance module development with knowledge creation/capture, while effectively managing module-level resource prioritization. * Product Development & Lifecycle Management End-to-End Development: Drive New Product Development (NPD), cost-reduction, and quality-improvement projects for the Dish business, specifically focusing on electromechanical and dry system components (e.g., inlet valves, dispensers, fans, blowers). * Concept to Production: Lead concept development, design creation, evaluation, selection, and verification/validation (V&V) for production implementation (covering plastics, sheet metal, and elastomer components), this includes basic 3D modeling. System Optimization: Optimize existing dry system performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. * Execution, Testing & Quality Assurance Develop FMEA and Execute DVP: develop subsystem and component FMEAs, translate those requirements into a DVP and lead the completion of the DVP with V&V, Manufacturing and Simulation teams. * Subsystem Tolerance Analysis: Identify and complete tolerance stacks on critical gaps. * Data & Analysis: Set up and execute data acquisition, analysis, and evaluation to drive data-based design decisions. Design Reviews: Lead and actively participate in detailed technical and design reviews to ensure robust product quality. * Lab Coordination: Manage and coordinate requests for the testing lab and model shop to ensure timely prototyping and validation. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Manufacturing * Global Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with cross-functional and globally distributed teams (Design, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.) to define release schedules and secure necessary sign-offs for consumer delivery. Supplier & DFM Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and external suppliers to manage tooling development, conducting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and manufacturability reviews.
