You will lead a team responsible for firmware and embedded software across connected charging products. The team's work includes real-time device control, embedded Linux, charging communications, metering, diagnostics, telemetry, multi-device coordination, third-party integrations, and market-specific product functionality. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will be expected to make architectural decisions, solve difficult engineering problems, contribute to implementation, mentor engineers, and lead product delivery. You will oversee the work of three embedded software engineers and help provide leadership across a group of approximately five to six people. The lead role described in accharging-team-lead owns embedded component design, device controls, metering compliance, site coordination, external integrations, and global product readiness across real-time and embedded Linux environments. What You'll Do Provide hands-on technical leadership for a team developing AC charging firmware and embedded software Lead, mentor, and coordinate approximately five to six engineers, including three engineers focused on current charging initiatives Define system and software architecture across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments Design and contribute to production software involving charging state machines, communications, metering, diagnostics, safety-related behavior, telemetry, and software updates Own complex technical problems that span firmware, hardware, electrical systems, networking, and external integrations Break product and business goals into engineering plans, milestones, ownership areas, and deliverable software Delegate technical work while maintaining accountability for quality, architecture, and delivery Review designs and code, establish engineering standards, and improve team development practices Mentor engineers in technical problem-solving, system design, debugging, and end-to-end product ownership Partner with product, hardware, electrical, systems, validation, compliance, manufacturing, service, and external partner teams Translate regional, commercial, and compliance requirements into scalable software and hardware designs Develop automated testing and validation strategies that increase product reliability and release confidence Support products through development, validation, launch, field operation, and continuous improvement Lead root-cause investigations for difficult field and system-level issues Identify technical and delivery risks early and drive them to resolution Help evaluate technical tradeoffs involving schedule, reliability, maintainability, performance, and product requirements
