This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of FPGA hardware, digital design, embedded software, and system-level engineering. The successful candidate will design, develop, integrate, test, and troubleshoot FPGA-based digital systems and embedded hardware/software solutions. You will work closely with electrical, firmware, software, and systems engineers throughout the product lifecycle-from initial requirements and architecture through prototype development, validation, and production. This is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging engineering problems and contribute directly to the development of high-performance, reliable electronic systems. What You'll Do * Design, develop, simulate, implement, and verify FPGA-based digital systems. * Develop RTL using VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog. * Perform FPGA synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and design optimization. * Develop and integrate embedded C/C++ software for FPGA, processor, and hardware interfaces. * Support hardware/software integration, system bring-up, debugging, and validation. * Work with FPGA development environments and toolchains such as AMD/Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus, and/or Microchip Libero. * Develop engineering scripts and automation using Python, Tcl, Bash, or similar tools. * Translate system requirements into practical hardware and firmware implementations. * Troubleshoot problems across RTL, FPGA timing, embedded software, hardware interfaces, and system-level functionality. * Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/debug tools, and other test equipment to diagnose hardware and system issues. * Participate in prototype development, design verification, validation, and transition to production. * Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, design specifications, and engineering reports. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the complete product development lifecycle. * Contribute to automated build, test, and verification processes where appropriate. * Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting., What We're Looking For We are looking for more than someone who has simply worked alongside an FPGA team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can personally contribute across the hardware/software boundary. You should be comfortable moving between: RTL design * FPGA implementation * timing/debugging * embedded C/C++ * hardware/software integration * system-level testing We're especially interested in engineers who enjoy diagnosing difficult problems and can determine whether an issue originates in the FPGA logic, firmware, hardware, timing, interface, or system architecture. Compensation & Opportunity * Base salary: $120,000-$125,000 annually * Direct-hire opportunity * Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, technical expertise, and overall qualifications. * Opportunity to work on technically challenging FPGA and embedded systems projects. * Collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment. * Opportunity to contribute throughout the product development lifecycle-from concept and prototype through production.
