## About the Role

* Cosmos DB Subject Matter Expert (SME) capable of guiding architecture and supporting production environments.
 * Proven experience designing scalable, resilient, and highly available Cosmos DB solutions.
 * Strong ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize RU consumption, throughput, and latency.
 * Comfortable partnering with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to improve performance, reliability, and operational excellence., * 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
 * 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
 * Strong expertise in:

 * Cosmos DB data modeling and partitioning strategies.
 * Query optimization and performance tuning.
 * Throughput and RU/s optimization.
 * Indexing policies and Change Feed processing.
 * Multi-region deployment and global distribution.
 * High availability and disaster recovery patterns.
 * Monitoring and observability.

Experience supporting high-volume, always-on enterprise applications.

Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.

Experience with Azure services including:

 * Azure Functions
 * App Services
 * AKS
 * Event Hubs
 * Service Bus
 * Application Insights

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to provide both strategic architectural guidance and hands-on production support.

Preferred Skills

 * Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
 * Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
 * Experience with .NET and/or Java applications.
 * Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
 * Experience establishing governance, operational standards, and performance best practices.
 * Experience with cost optimization, scalability, and long-term platform improvements., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
