## About the Role

* Degree in clothing technology and/or manufacturing or comparable degree from Textile School
 * 4 years minimum related work experience in garment/textile industry
 * Preferred candidate has experience developing performance apparel products.
 * Experience in Asian development and production is preferred
 * Will have an understanding of pattern making, textiles, construction techniques and other elements that comprise apparel construction.
 * IT-skills (e-mail, MS Office programs, PDM), strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.

## Description

The Technical Developer works directly with Design, Product Management and Manufacturers to create and maintain technical information with regard to product creations from conception through development to buy-ready status for all products. Communicates and coordinates all necessary information internally and externally that supports on time buy-ready for all assigned projects. Translates design vision and consumer needs into product which supports the brands product strategy.

Essential Functions:

 * Work with Design to create tech packs from design specification for all applicable products.
 * Monitor fit and size specs on products, appropriate for the end-use performance and style of the garment.
 * Create and maintain the Bill of Material for applicable products to include all fabrics, trims branding, hang tags and/or packaging. Review all prototypes for adherence to BOM details. Constant, direct communication with design team, operations and vendors for correct raw materials details updates, corrections and other technical information to be used by manufacturers in calculating cost for producing products.
 * Ownership for entire project management process for assigned products, with an emphasis on quality product development and timely completion of all tasks in accordance with applicable operating calendar.
 * Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Product Marketing, Design, Quality, Costing, and Sourcing, managing designated projects to ensure an on time buy ready performance.
 * Prototype and implement new and innovative designs, components, processes, materials and concepts into a manufacturable and marketable finished product.
 * Engineer workable prototypes that address desired function, cosmetics, market appeal and manufacturability, which includes checking prototypes for quality, fit and conduct fitting sessions with team.
 * Ensure that new projects are engineered in accordance with cost targets (pre-costing) and ensure that initial cost quotes are available.
 * Conduct pre-costing process in accordance with costing procedures and review with Costing team.
 * Ensure all materials, processes, prototypes and development samples are fully tested to ensure adherence to quality standards.
 * Work within the Product Development PLM system
 * Provide input into sourcing decisions
