## About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading from the front, working collaboratively and contributing to impactful public sector digital transformation projects., * Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot

 * Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications and scalable software architectures
 * Good knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms, alongside infrastructure as code
 * Experience writing well-tested code and working with automated testing frameworks
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Agile software development methodologies
 * Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
 * Proven ability to lead engineering teams, provide technical guidance and mentor other developers
 * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
 * A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

## Description

* Lead the design, development and delivery of complex software systems, ensuring high standards of quality, security, scalability and performance.
 * Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to software engineers, supporting their professional development and encouraging knowledge sharing.
 * Write high-quality, well-tested code and promote best practice across software development, testing and continuous delivery.
 * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
 * Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, application performance, reliability and security.
 * Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback and maintain consistent engineering standards.
 * Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and contribute to modern DevOps practices.
 * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support the delivery of reliable software solutions.
 * Contribute to technical discussions, knowledge-sharing initiatives and where required, recruitment and early-stage bid activities.
