## About the Role

* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline
 * 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in the software engineering industry
 * Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms, operating systems, and computer architecture
 * Proficiency in C / C++ and Python programming languages
 * Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages and ideas clearly and effectively
 * Ability to cultivate meaningful and productive relationships with other members of the team
 * The ability to think outside the box to help solve problems, with the humility to ask for help when needed
 * Adaptability to a dynamic environment and the readiness to take on any new tasks that are handed to you

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.

What You'll Do:
Be a key contributor on our agile software development team

 * Use (and improve) existing software engineering processes to increase efficiency and quality in the satellite application software product
 * New feature development and maintenance updates for the application software product on Iridium's satellite constellation
 * Contribute to the planning and execution of software product releases
 * Use Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, and other tools to track changes and automate the provisioning of software artifact
 * Work with stakeholders from within the Satellite Software Product Team as well as other parts of the organization to solve challenging problem
 * Promote knowledge sharing through briefings, presentations, and other documentation such as UML diagrams and software specifications
