## About the Role

Technical Leadership, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Java, Technical Leadership, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Java, Employee Benefits, Scalable System Development, Application Programming Interface (API), Microservices, * 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 7 years building backend systems in Java.

 * 2 years managing engineers with direct reports, including performance reviews and career development.
 * Deep expertise in modern Java (17) and Spring Boot, including REST API design, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
 * 3 years designing, building, and running production systems on AWS (e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB).
 * Strong microservices and distributed systems design, including event-driven architecture and resiliency patterns.
 * Solid relational and NoSQL database skills (e.g., PostgreSQL or Oracle, DynamoDB).
 * Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), containers (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS), and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito).
 * Proven track record of delivering complex, production-grade projects end to end in an Agile environment.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * AWS certification (Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional, or Developer - Associate).
 * Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).
 * Familiarity with event streaming (Kafka, Amazon MSK, or Kinesis).

Immediate need for a talented Tech Lead - Java (AWS). This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Irving, TX (Onsite).  * Design and build scalable, secure, and resilient microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
 * Write production code on critical paths, lead design and code reviews, and set the bar for code quality and testing.
 * Make AWS architecture decisions balancing reliability, security, and cost.
 * Drive CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability practices.
 * Manage engineers through regular 1:1s, goal setting, performance reviews, and career development.
 * Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and business stakeholders to prioritize backlogs.
 * Run predictable Agile/Scrum delivery, including sprint planning and releases.
