## About the Role

* 5+ years of Quality Assurance and software testing experience
 * Strong experience with manual testing methodologies and best practices
 * Accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent) with deep, practical understanding of accessibility principles and WCAG 2.2 AA, beyond surface-level familiarity
 * Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards
 * Experience validating WCAG and Section 508 compliance, including testing for government accessibility compliance
 * Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and methodologies
 * Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts
 * High-level proficiency in SQL queries and database validation
 * High-level proficiency in API testing and web service validation
 * Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test documentation from business requirements
 * Experience tracking and managing defects throughout the SDLC
 * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
 * Strong verbal and written communication skills
 * Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, developers, project managers, and other IT teams
 * Experience working in Agile or similar collaborative environments

## Description

We are seeking a Senior QA Tester to support ongoing enhancements to applications used for monitoring and administering Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) grants, including Parts B and C. Current initiatives include:

 * Two new AEA funding streams
 * A fiscal monitoring tool
 * Three stand-alone form upload processes supporting budget and claims workflows

This role emphasizes manual testing, with automation applied where it adds value. You will work closely with business analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional, usability, accessibility, and quality standards., Testing Execution

 * Perform functional, regression, user acceptance (UAT), usability, and accessibility testing
 * Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases, test scripts, and test plans
 * Use testing tools to support and expand automated testing where practical
 * Support projects ranging from small enhancements to large-scale application initiatives

Requirements and Test Planning

 * Review business requirements and technical documentation to ensure comprehensive test coverage
 * Collaborate with Business Analysts to clarify requirements and develop test scenarios, including limited requirements gathering needed for test planning
 * Translate business requirements into test strategies, test plans, and traceable test cases

Data and API Validation

 * Perform API and web service testing to verify functionality and integration
 * Write and execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy, processing, and system integrity

Accessibility Compliance

 * Validate WCAG 2.2 AA and Section 508 compliance across applications and new features
 * Use accessibility tools and assistive technologies to identify, document, and verify remediation of issues
 * Advise the team on accessibility best practices during design and development

Defect Management and Support

 * Log, track, and manage defects through the software development lifecycle
 * Participate in defect triage, troubleshooting, and production support as issues arise
 * Document test results, defects, and recommendations clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
 * Work with development teams to ensure changes are successfully migrated into production

Documentation and Process Improvement

 * Assist in maintaining user and system documentation as business processes evolve
 * Participate in business process improvement and validation activities
