## About the Role

* 3+ years of experience administering Windows-based server environments
 * Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration
 * Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments
 * Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or Remote Desktop Services
 * Experience with PowerShell or other scripting and automation tools
 * Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
 * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team

Nice to Have

 * Experience supporting Linux systems or mixed Windows/Linux environments
 * Exposure to public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
 * Knowledge of enterprise backup, disaster recovery, or firewall technologies
 * Experience supporting ERP platforms or additional database technologies

## Description

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established technology organization in the Milwaukee area to help them hire an experienced Systems Administrator. This role is responsible for maintaining server, virtualization, identity, database, and application-hosting technologies while helping ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and available for both internal teams and external customers.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, infrastructure improvement, and working across a broad range of technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

 * Administer and support Windows Server environments across production and non-production systems
 * Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, and identity-related services
 * Support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including maintenance, backups, and recovery processes
 * Configure and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, Citrix, and Remote Desktop Services
 * Support web and application hosting technologies including IIS, Tomcat, and related services
 * Monitor system performance, availability, and security while proactively addressing issues
 * Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell and other tools
 * Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and network-related problems
 * Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations
 * Participate in an on-call rotation and assist with incident response when needed
