You'll own systems end to end - from architecture to shipping - working directly with founders and leadership with zero layers in between. This is a high-autonomy role where your judgment and opinions directly shape what gets built, not just how. We need engineers who have strong technical convictions, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where whiteboarding, debating, and shipping are the norm. What you will be doing * Building and owning backend server applications and components that power Chariot's payment platform end to end - from design through production * Contributing to architecture decisions across APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure - helping define team standards and best practices * Collaborating directly with founders, product, and engineering through whiteboarding sessions and technical debates - strong opinions loosely held * Improving real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities to better understand user behavior and iterate on the product * Taking on a wide range of engineering projects across the platform - the team intentionally avoids siloed product lines so you'll work across the full stack.
