We are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of a loosely defined capability and turn it into a working application. Our projects do not always begin with complete requirements or a detailed specification. Successful engineers at Metron are comfortable asking the right questions, working directly with researchers, engineers, users, and customers, and iterating toward practical solutions. This role is primarily focused on implementing core application logic, with occasional user interface development., In this role, you will be expected to: * Take ownership of software features throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment. * Navigate ambiguous and evolving requirements by identifying key problems and delivering effective software solutions. * Build reliable, maintainable applications, services, APIs, and supporting software infrastructure. * Contribute to intuitive GUI/frontend applications and visualizations that make complex technical information understandable and useful. * Collaborate directly with research scientists, engineers, project managers, operators, and customers to understand technical and operational needs.
