## About the Role

* Strong commercial software engineering experience, particularly backend development.
 * Strong Java experience or comparable backend development expertise.
 * Experience working across different technologies and stacks.
 * Comfortable working with legacy systems as well as modern applications.
 * Experience with APIs, integrations and distributed applications.
 * Ability to understand and modernise existing codebases.

## Description

You will work on a partner-facing platform used by external organisations to access and distribute travel-related inventory. Key responsibilities will include:

 * Developing new platform functionality using modern backend technologies.
 * Working on integrations with external systems and partners.
 * Modernising and migrating legacy applications.
 * Working across both modern and legacy codebases.
 * Supporting the migration of legacy direct database access towards API-based services.
 * Developing and maintaining APIs and backend services.
 * Contributing to a small amount of React/frontend development where required.
