* Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics, or related) from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States.

## Description

As a Cognizant Systems Configuration/Process Engineer (I-IV)/Technical Authority for assigned systems, coordinates configuration management activities, assesses system health and performance, and provides overall technical responsibility for plant system operability and maintenance activities.

Works in conjunction with the Configuration Management program for the assigned system(s). Prepares configuration control/design change packages for tasks; evaluates the impact of proposed changes and/or modifications to approved safety authorization bases for facilities; and performs troubleshooting and improvement activities.

Applies the systems and equipment expertise needed to resolve technical system and equipment issues in cooperation with other related disciplines.
Responsibilities

 * Serve as a Cognizant System Engineer/Technical Authority for assigned systems.
 * Coordinate configuration management activities.
 * Assess system health and performance.
 * Provide overall technical responsibility for plant system operability and maintenance activities.
 * Work in conjunction with the Configuration Management program for assigned systems.
 * Prepare configuration control/design change packages for tasks.
 * Evaluate the impact of proposed changes and/or modifications to approved safety authorization bases for facilities.
 * Perform troubleshooting and system improvement activities.
 * Apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical issues in cooperation with other related disciplines.
 * Conduct system walkdowns.
 * Perform calibration and equipment test/inspection determinations.
 * Conduct spare parts evaluations.
 * Provide system turnover to owner support.

Additional Responsibilities:

 * Serve as the Cognizant System Engineer responsible for assigned plant systems, including mechanical, piping, instrument air, gas, water, and fire protection systems.
 * Maintain engineering configuration management and technical documentation to ensure consistency with approved system design requirements.
 * Identify, gather, interpret, and document engineering requirements necessary for design verification.
 * Ensure technical requirements are maintained and incorporated throughout the engineering design and modification lifecycle.
 * Provide technical oversight of engineering design activities, ensuring compliance with established design bases, specifications, and configuration management requirements.
 * Coordinate with engineering teams to verify that system modifications meet established technical and operational requirements.
