## About the Role

* Solid programming skills in Go (Golang) or strong experience with JVM technologies (Java/Spring Boot) and a genuine desire to learn Go;
 * Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems at scale;
 * Experience with highly concurrent, distributed architectures and systems;
 * Experience with containerised applications;
 * Experience building REST/HTTP based services;
 * Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis);
 * Some experience contributing to architectural decisions within a team;
 * Strong test suite design skills, including Unit, Integration and Smoke tests;
 * Clear and effective communication of problems and solutions across team members.

Nice to Have:

 * Familiarity with AWS services (SQS, SNS, DynamoDB);
 * Exposure to Kafka, Kubernetes or Terraform;
 * Understanding of Continuous Delivery in cloud environments;
 * General understanding of the telecommunications industry.

## Description

* Develop and maintain highly concurrent and distributed backend services;
 * Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape technical decisions within the team;
 * Design, develop and test new features with a strong focus on quality and reliability;
 * Profile and optimise system performance, diagnosing and resolving issues proactively;
 * Support the release and documentation of developed features;
 * Estimate effort required to develop and implement solutions;
 * Contribute to coding standards and development processes;
 * Provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota.
