## About the Role

* Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing Apigee X solutions.
 * Strong technical architecture experience across GCP.
 * Deep knowledge of Apigee proxies, shared flows, policies, target servers, environments and environment groups.
 * Demonstrable experience integrating Apigee X with Cloud Run or private GCP services.
 * Strong knowledge of GCP networking, DNS, VPCs, IAM, service accounts and load balancing.
 * Experience designing secure connectivity using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, TLS and mTLS.
 * Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience.
 * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
 * Ability to design and troubleshoot complex API platform integrations.
 * Experience with capacity planning, environment isolation and production resilience.
 * Strong Linux, Scripting and technical troubleshooting skills.

Desirable Experience

 * Experience supporting AI-related API workloads, file-upload services or WebSocket connectivity.
 * Experience with GKE, Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
 * Knowledge of Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Cloud Build.
 * Experience with Dynatrace or Google Cloud Operations.
 * Experience working within regulated financial-services organisations.
 * Google Cloud or Apigee certifications.

## Description

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Architect specialising in Apigee X and Google Cloud Platform to design, implement and validate enterprise API infrastructure and integration solutions.
The role will focus on detailed technical architecture, particularly Apigee X integration with Cloud Run, private connectivity and the design of dedicated environments supporting AI, file-upload and WebSocket workloads.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical architecture expertise with practical engineering experience to deliver secure, scalable and operationally supportable solutions.
Key Responsibilities

 * Produce detailed technical designs for Apigee X and GCP API management infrastructure.
 * Design and implement secure private connectivity between Apigee X and Cloud Run.
 * Architect dedicated Apigee environments and environment groups for specific workloads.
 * Define routing, DNS, TLS certificate management, trust and connectivity patterns.
 * Design network, IAM, capacity, security and workload isolation configurations.
 * Develop reusable API platform architecture patterns and technical standards.
 * Work with engineering teams to implement and validate architectural designs.
 * Support Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
 * Review API proxies, shared flows, policies, target Servers and environment configurations.
 * Troubleshoot complex API routing, networking, authentication and performance issues.
 * Define monitoring, logging, observability and operational resilience requirements.
 * Lead technical design reviews, integration testing and production-readiness assessments.
 * Produce technical documentation, implementation guidance and operational runbooks.
