## About the Role

* Commercial experience in Software Engineering or Software Development
 * Strong back-end programming skills in one or more of Java, C++, Python, C or Node.js
 * Experience designing, developing, testing and debugging software applications
 * An interest in data processing and solving complex technical problems
 * Understanding of cloud engineering, ideally with AWS
 * Familiarity with Docker, microservices or cloud-based architectures is desirable
 * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and resolve technical issues
 * Ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams and share technical knowledge
 * A willingness to learn new technologies and develop your technical capabilities

Desirable: Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, containerisation, microservices or National Security and UK Government projects.

## Description

You'll take a hands-on role developing, testing and maintaining software, with a focus on data processing and opportunities to work with AWS cloud infrastructure. You'll help solve complex technical challenges, collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to projects that make a real difference to national security.

 * Design, develop, test and maintain software applications for National Security clients
 * Build and support data processing solutions across complex technical environments
 * Work with AWS cloud infrastructure and contribute to the development of scalable software systems
 * Analyse software defects, troubleshoot issues and deliver effective code fixes
 * Produce technical documentation and provide accurate estimates for development work
 * Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
 * Work within Agile teams, contributing to knowledge sharing and engineering best practices
 * Support and mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance where appropriate
