## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience in related fields, such as storage architecture, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, data center design, or enterprise architecture; equivalencies considered.
 * Active Secret Clearance
 * Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise storage architectures for large-scale, geographically distributed environments
 * Demonstrated expertise in storage technologies including SAN, NAS, object storage, and modern backup and recovery platforms
 * Strong knowledge of capacity planning, data protection strategies, and high-availability storage design
 * Excellent leadership abilities with proven experience planning and leading major storage infrastructure initiatives, functioning as a subject matter expert, and supervising architecture teams

Desired:

 * Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State
 * Professional certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), or similar storage architecture certifications
 * Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage) and hybrid storage architectures
 * Knowledge of data governance, compliance frameworks, and experience designing storage infrastructure for 300+ geographically distributed facilities

 * Design storage solutions leveraging modern technologies to improve scalability, performance, and reliability for mission-critical operations
 * Integrate new storage systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance supporting 40,000+ users
 * Design comprehensive backup and restoration infrastructure utilizing modern platforms, ensuring adherence to industry best practices
 * Design storage infrastructure with integrity checks and audit processes ensuring Department of State compliance and data governance requirements
 * Develop storage capacity planning models and forecasting strategies to support enterprise growth and modernization initiatives
 * Collaborate with security teams, database administrators, and application owners to ensure storage architectures meet data protection, performance, and integration requirements
 * Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments, planning and leading major storage architecture initiatives while mentoring team members and supervising infrastructure design activities
