Your foundation should be System Administration. You should be comfortable working with Linux systems, understanding networks, troubleshooting problems, deploying services, and taking responsibility for production infrastructure. What makes this role different from a traditional System Administrator position is how we want you to approach the work. We believe AI-assisted development is changing what System Administrators can build and automate themselves. You do not need to be an experienced software developer, but you should be interested in using AI, scripting, APIs, and automation to solve operational problems. If you repeatedly perform the same task manually, we want you to think about whether it could be automated. If information has to be copied between two systems, we want you to consider whether an API integration could do it. If troubleshooting requires collecting information from five different places, we want you to think about whether a small internal tool could make that easier. You might spend part of your day troubleshooting Linux, virtualization, storage, or networking issues and another part building a Python script with the help of AI, improving our SaltStack configuration, integrating an API, or automating an operational workflow. You don't need to arrive as a developer. You should, however, be willing to become increasingly comfortable building tools that make you and the rest of the team more efficient. A rotating on-call responsibility is part of the role., * Operate and maintain Linux-based production infrastructure * Troubleshoot Linux, virtualization, storage, networking, and application-related issues * Work with technologies such as Proxmox, Ceph, SaltStack, monitoring systems, and internal infrastructure services * Participate in infrastructure changes, upgrades, migrations, and incident handling * Automate repetitive System Administration tasks * Use AI-assisted development tools to create scripts and small internal tools * Work with APIs to integrate systems and automate operational workflows * Improve existing configuration management and automation * Identify manual processes that can be simplified or eliminated * Improve monitoring, alerting, diagnostics, and operational visibility * Document systems, procedures, and automation * Participate in the team's rotating on-call responsibilities
