## About the Role

* Proven experience in data engineering, ideally within the defence, aerospace or industrial sectors
 * Strong Python and SQL programming skills, with experience developing and maintaining data pipelines
 * Familiarity with ETL/ELT technologies and data streaming tools such as Airflow, Azure, SSIS, Spark or Kafka
 * Experience working with databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake or similar technologies
 * Knowledge of data visualisation tools, particularly Power BI, DAX or Tableau
 * Understanding of data architecture, data governance, data quality and secure data management
 * Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD practices would be advantageous
 * Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables
 * Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams

## Description

* Design and deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand their requirements
 * Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to integrate information from engineering, simulation, manufacturing and enterprise systems
 * Design and implement data lakes, warehouses and modern data platforms to support business intelligence and advanced analytics
 * Build Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to support performance monitoring, KPI tracking and business decision-making
 * Establish and maintain data models, quality standards, governance processes and data lineage
 * Ensure data solutions meet relevant security requirements and comply with applicable defence industry standards
 * Improve data delivery through automation, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines and modern DataOps practices
 * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production, quality, supply chain and wider business functions
