This role is heavily focused on real-time production operations, incident response, infrastructure management, security, and end-to-end observability. The ideal candidate has strong AWS and Kubernetes experience, understands how to secure and protect cloud infrastructure, and can independently investigate alerts, isolate root causes, and restore service health. This is an operationally focused role requiring ownership of production environments from infrastructure deployment through ongoing support and incident resolution., * Respond to production alerts and incidents routed through tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and xMatters, taking ownership from initial investigation through resolution * Troubleshoot AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes issues, including resource exhaustion, scaling challenges, failed deployments, and configuration inconsistencies * Perform fault isolation and dependency analysis across distributed applications, using logs, metrics, and traces to identify root causes and restore service health * Build, configure, maintain, and tear down AWS infrastructure in production environments, including rebuilding environments from hardened base Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) * Manage and support Amazon EKS, Kubernetes workloads, security groups, Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations, load balancers, and AWS Global Accelerator * Deploy Kubernetes resources, manage workload scaling, and troubleshoot deployment issues without requiring day-to-day application development * Maintain infrastructure-as-code and infrastructure deployment pipelines using Terraform and GitLab * Implement and maintain end-to-end observability, including log analysis, metric correlation, API monitoring, alerting, and incident management workflows * Integrate monitoring and alerting tools with incident response platforms to improve visibility, speed up troubleshooting, and reduce time to resolution * Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks and improve infrastructure reliability using Python or shell scripting * Maintain AWS security controls, remediate vulnerabilities within established service-level agreements, and support ongoing compliance requirements * Monitor infrastructure compliance, maintain accurate asset inventories, and participate in governance reviews and security reporting * Collaborate with local and offshore engineering teams to maintain production stability and ensure consistent configurations across environments
