## Description

The Principal Roku BrightScript Engineer joins the Client Platform Engineering team to build and maintain the foundational Roku platform powering streaming applications across a shared codebase strategy. This role addresses complex engineering challenges across SceneGraph architecture, media playback, DRM flows, and performance optimization on resource-constrained hardware. The position bridges reference implementations with production BrightScript code while establishing automated quality gates and AI-assisted software development workflows. Direct collaboration with product and engineering leadership ensures high-performance delivery across all target hardware tiers.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives)

 * Map production OTT modules to BrightScript equivalents while mitigating high-complexity risks in player state machines and DRM integration.
 * Design a scalable scene stack, deep-linking routing architecture, and thread-safe task model for high-performance application execution.
 * Enforce component library performance standards, field observer practices, and focus chain integrity across dynamic application themes.
 * Integrate BrightScript-specific linting, static analysis, and device farm benchmarking into the AI-assisted development pipeline to optimize target hardware performance.
 * Establish automated testing frameworks, deep-link automation, and headless performance benchmarks to maintain strict launch time and memory footprint targets.
