## About the Role

* Proven .NET development experience using advanced C# features (LINQ, delegates and lambdas, asynchronous programming, concurrency, and generics) and mentoring others.
 * Experience with the .NET platform and ASP.NET Core, including building web applications and services.
 * Experience designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API, including threat assessment throughout the development process.
 * Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles (SOLID), design patterns, dependency injection, and secure coding practices.
 * Experience deploying and managing .NET applications using containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
 * Experience using and defining version control strategies for the team (e.g., Git).
 * Understanding .NET application and system performance monitoring, performance issue diagnosis, and implementing solutions.
 * Experience using CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
 * Working knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and their core services.

Desirable Skills:

 * Experience with messaging solutions (Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or SQS), serverless technologies (Azure Functions or AWS Lambda), and monitoring and logging tools (Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, ELK stack, or Splunk).
 * Experience using structured logging and telemetry (including Open Telemetry) to derive application insights.
 * Consideration of non-functional requirements (security, accessibility, resilience, performance, and observability) during design and development.
 * Solid understanding of Object-Relational Mapping principles and proficiency with Entity Framework Core.
 * Experience using OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation and coding alongside AI assistants such as GitHub Copilot.
 * Experience with test tools and frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, Playwright, Selenium, Axe, Postman, or Bruno.
 * Experience delivering complex projects from backlog through to production.

Soft Skills:

 * Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving abilities, enabling the identification and resolution of challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
 * Ability to understand task requirements, dependencies, and prioritise work effectively for the team.
 * Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
 * Willing and eligible to obtain UK security clearance to Security Check (SC) is essential.
 * Active or readily transferable security clearance is desirable.
