## About the Role

a minimum of 10 years relevant experience. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field is required.
At a minimum, meet DoDD 8140 requirements (Security+ CE Certification)
Expertise working with Windows platforms and COTS applications in cloud environments
5+ years of experience with API gateway technologies (Broadcom API experience is strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of API design principles, security best practices, and industry-standard protocols
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in an Agile development environment.
Solid engineering rigor
Expert troubleshooting and solutioning skills, including investigating log files to discover root-cause for challenges
Experience with Cloud architecture and system design
Demonstrated experience with system testing and validation
Strong documentation skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :

API-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Azure API Management Certified)
Experience with API management platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee)

## Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer - API to support our customer in Dulles, VA, focusing on cloud-based systems, API integration, and enterprise architecture. This role will support the design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of interconnected systems and services across complex cloud environments. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate system requirements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure reliable, secure, and efficient system integration., Support the design, integration, and maintenance of API-based solutions connecting cloud services, applications, and enterprise systems.

Apply systems engineering principles to evaluate system architectures, technical requirements, interfaces, and dependencies across interconnected environments.

Support API management and integration activities involving API gateways, service interfaces, and related integration technologies.

Perform system-level testing and validation to ensure functionality, interoperability, and compliance with technical requirements.

Troubleshoot complex system and integration issues, analyze logs, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend technical solutions.

Collaborate with cloud, software, infrastructure, and security teams to address integration challenges and support system improvements.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architectures, interface specifications, integration procedures, and test results.

Participate in Agile engineering activities and contribute to improving system reliability, performance, and overall engineering processes.
