## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
 * 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or cloud infrastructure
 * Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
 * Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
 * Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices

Hybrid in Ashburn, VA or Gaithersburg, MD Our client seeks a Systems Engineer who understands how complex cloud-hosted software systems fit together to deliver mission-critical capabilities for the federal government. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient systems that support national security and defense missions., * Design and architect cloud-native solutions that meet federal security requirements

 * Implement and configure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for high-availability systems
 * Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and operations
 * Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and security teams to ensure system integration
 * Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance strategies
 * Ensure compliance with federal standards (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA)
 * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
