Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DB2 Database Administrator for a contract assignment supporting the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV). This role involves managing the mission-critical Motor Vehicle Information System (DESTINY). This is a remote position, though candidates residing in the DMV area are preferred.
Target Annual Salary: $110,544.00 $126,336.00., * Manage, configure, and maintain DB2 databases on mainframe platforms, including installations, upgrades, patches, migrations, and version management.

 * Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and tune DB2 components to ensure high availability and data integrity.
 * Optimize database queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers in collaboration with the application development team.
 * Coordinate with developers to ensure application releases and data model changes are correctly synchronized with database environments.
 * Enforce database security standards, user access controls, and audit requirements in accordance with government policies.
 * Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations regarding personal information.
 * Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and execute tuning for memory pools, indexes, and storage structures.
 * Collaborate with infrastructure teams regarding server performance, storage, and network connectivity.
 * Provide technical support and knowledge sharing to district agencies, personnel, and stakeholders.
