## About the Role

## Description

We are currently seeking a Network/Smart Hands Support Specialist to join our team in Syracuse, New York (US-NY), United States (US).

This role provides on-site technical support for network infrastructure, hardware installations, and data center operations through remote NOC. This role is hands-on, requiring physical tasks such as equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and local site-to-site travel. Technicians serve as the on-site extension of the remote NOC and engineering teams, ensuring smooth operations, rapid response to issues, and accurate documentation.

**This role requires working onsite daily at our client's facility and requires an annual flu shot.

We support this client 24/7, so this role could include evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities:

 * Provide Smart Hands support for network/server hardware (rack/stack, cabling, hardware swaps).
 * Troubleshoot and resolve physical connectivity issues, including cable tracing, module/port replacements, and resets.
 * Perform routine equipment maintenance, hardware upgrades, and emergency repairs.
 * Power cycling, console access setup, and module disk/power replacements as directed by remote teams.
 * Document work performed, maintain service logs, and update appropriate systems.
 * Respond to ticketing system, update tickets to track information and maintain SLAs.
 * Support inventory management, shipping/receiving, and site readiness tasks.
 * Respond to emergency situations and participate in rotating on-call schedules.
 * Follow safety protocols and adhere to operational procedures and change management policies.
 * Provides leadership of projects; contributes to the design of telecommunications/network systems
 * Translates business parameters and objectives into functional and/or technical requirements
