## About the Role

* 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
 * Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python.
 * Cloud-native application development and microservices architecture.
 * REST API development and integration.
 * AWS services: ECS, IAM, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Glue, S3, and RDS.
 * Strong SQL and T-SQL query-writing skills.
 * CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
 * Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
 * Experience with distributed applications; monolithic-only experience is not sufficient.

## Description

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend applications using Java and/or Python.
 * Build, enhance, and support microservices and REST APIs for enterprise data platform applications.
 * Develop and deploy AWS-based solutions using ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, Glue, and IAM.
 * Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven workflows using AWS messaging services.
 * Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL and T-SQL queries to support application functionality and data processing.
 * Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployments, and releases.
 * Use Terraform to provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
 * Contribute to platform reconciliation capabilities, ensuring data consistency and identifying discrepancies across systems.
 * Develop backend services that support application lifecycle management, reliability, and operational efficiency.
 * Implement resilient application designs that support fault tolerance, recovery, and multi-region availability.
 * Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, QA teams, and other developers to deliver reliable backend solutions.
 * Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve application performance, scalability, and stability.
 * Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding productivity, debugging, testing, and documentation.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

 * Relational and/or NoSQL database modeling and design.
 * Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
 * Experience with distributed systems and cloud resiliency patterns.
