An automated process is only as capable as the systems it can reach and only as trustworthy as the controls around it, and this role owns both. You will design, build, deploy, monitor, and retire integrations. You will also expose internal and vendor applications as governed, authenticated, least-privilege services. Working closely with our business analysts, who identify and shape automation opportunities, you will decide what should be automated, what should not, and how to do it safely in a regulated financial institution. This position is based out of our headquarters in Irwindale, CA, with the flexibility to work 100% remotely. You will report to the Director, Business Technology. What You'll Do * Design, build, and maintain integrations using our iPaaS platform, REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, event-driven patterns, and AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions) * Build and maintain API wrappers and connectors, with accurate specifications and documentation * Choose the right approach for each opportunity (deterministic integration, conventional code, or a change to a human process) and document your rationale * Establish how integrations authenticate and what they are permitted to do, including scoped IAM permissions, credential vaulting, and rotation * Define controls and action boundaries for every integration, and treat all external data as untrusted input * Build automated test suites and track error, latency, and failure metrics * Instrument integrations with logging, monitoring, alerting, and runbooks so every action can be reconstructed for troubleshooting, audit, and regulatory examination * Maintain the technical inventory of integrations, automated processes, and APIs, and retire what is unused or superseded * Work with Information Security, Risk, and Compliance to review integrations before production release, including member data handling and third-party and open-source components * Keep all code in source control with peer review, testing, and CI/CD, and document architecture and reusable patterns so knowledge is shared
