Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. ## Description We are seeking a hands-on Sr Application Developer - Mainframe to design, develop, test, maintain, and support enhancements to existing mainframe applications used across state programs. The role requires strong practical development experience with COBOL, Natural, JCL, and databases such as ADABAS and DB2. The ideal candidate has recent, relevant experience with Natural programming and can translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Responsibilities include technical analysis, application development, batch processing, testing, production support, technical documentation, and collaboration within Agile teams. The developer will also participate in a shared 24×7 rotational on-call support model. This is a mid-to-senior individual contributor role focused on hands-on development and delivery ownership. It is not an architect or formal team-lead position., Technical Analysis and Design * Analyze business requirements and develop practical technical designs for moderate to complex changes within established architecture, patterns, and standards. * Create and update program specifications, data mappings, flow diagrams, and other technical design documentation. * Review and walk through design documentation with stakeholders for approval. * Recommend incremental technical improvements aligned with existing architecture and standards. * Translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
